Many of the important artifacts in this church are on loan to the Evora art museum, which can be seen there. The church is impressive and parts of it date back to the 11th century. It is a jewel.

Beautiful church and monastery worth an hour of your time if you have it. Very well preserved Gothic with many other styles present in the chapels. Walking inside gives you the feeling of time traveling. The chapel of the bones will invite you to think about life and the miracle of enjoying it while alive. Very nice staff.

Interesting church. Worth to walk inside and give a look to the magnificence of a "Church" that says that only the "poors" will reach Heaven!!! Wondering how many of the souls, of whom we can today see their bones only in the near chapel, are in heaven....
