A commemorative arch dedicated to recovery from the 1775 earthquake, Arco do Triunfo boasts 7 m (23 ft) statues at its top, representing glory, valor, and ingenuity. Originally a bell tower, this neoclassical structure took over a century to become what it is today. Standing over 30 m (100 ft), it welcomes you to the historical area of Lisbon. Look for statues of Vasco da Gama, Nuno Alvares Pereira, Viriato, and Marquis of Pombal at its lower level. Climb the arch's gazebo to get panoramic views of Rua Augusta. Nice archway that you can see from many places in the city. From this side it is the best. Take a couple of pictures and enjoy it presence then walk down to the waterfront and take a look at the scenery. All in all a solid place to have a look around, would definitely recommend to stop by and have a look.

Very nice spot to look out over the city. I've been up here a few times over the last number of years and always pretty nice. The traffic light system for climbing the stairs is great.
