Over-simplified. Very brief on history. Not always clear when audio guide moves to the next section.

Really interesting museum which gives you a great understanding of the history of Lisbon. There is an audio guide in multiple languages to choose from and an "earthquake room" with a cinematic film. Definitely think that it is worth a visit on your first time to Lisbon. However, I would have appreciated some more information about the more modern history of Lisbon as well.

A rainy day brought us here and this place did not brighten our day. With its cheesy audio guide narration, this short tour offers a very thin history of Lisbon. Four centuries of Moorish culture get less than 20 seconds, and slavery is not even mentioned as Portuguese “discoveries” are glorified. Fair enough to note the incredible feats of Portuguese navigators, but it seems like whitewashing to gloss over the dark side so completely. Some very good visuals, videos and models, but ultimately a disappointing experience that needs updating.
