Don't miss Arecibo Lighthouse & Historical Park, a cultural park featuring an array of activities, sights, and landmarks. When you arrive, head first to the central attraction of the park, the lighthouse. Built in 1898, the neoclassical structure sits atop a rocky headland and houses several exhibits dedicated to marine artifacts, the Spanish-American War, and the history of the lighthouse itself. From the roof, enjoy sweeping views of the ocean, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a few whales, if you're lucky. Elsewhere in the park, inspect replicas of a pirate ship and slavery quarters, as well as an aquarium, a water park, and a small zoo. • The facility isn’t being kept up and you can’t go into the top of lighthouse. We drove from Dorado and it was a waste of time and money. I Would not recommend.

  • I would give 3.5 stars if that was an option. The lighthouse / aquarium was neat to see but it was just ok. I say if you’re in the area and don’t mind paying $12, then make the stop. This place is probably great for kids 7 and under. There are wooden boat structures the kids could play in and and a small splash pad area. The view from the lighthouse was nice but not much to see inside.
  • You get your money's worth if you go swimming. The kids loved it. The view at the lighthouse is beautiful. Not much food but the basic concession kind. They had quite many fish to see.
