Create an itinerary including Yokahu Observation Tower
Gain a new perspective of the forest on top of Yokahu Observation Tower, a cylindrical viewing tower located in El Yunque National Forest. Climb the 100 steps to the viewing platform at the top of the building to get sweeping views of the trees and hills of the impressive natural surroundings. Constructed in 1963, the tower has a twin elsewhere in the forest, though at a higher elevation and deeper into the park, the second is harder to access and frequently obscured by clouds. Plan my El Yunque National Forest trip by asking Inspirock to come up with tips and suggestions.

  • Such beautiful views, can even see the ocean from the top of this tower! It is not a hike, just a little sidewalk to get to it from the parking lot.

  • Beautiful place! First you need a reservation, do not forget to get one or you will not be able to drive in. We love the view , the mountains , all the green all the way to a view of the sea on a clear day. A quick reminder a few trails are still close.
  • Gorgeous view from climbing a few Stairs. Limited occupancy when we visited in Feb 2022. A worthwhile stop. Has bathrooms too
