Cross the water to Gilligan's Island and spend time on the island named after the popular TV show. Several mangrove forests surround the island, which nurtures an environment rich in marine life. You will find calm, shallow water with a sandy bottom here; do not forget your snorkeling gear. As a very popular location for locals, the beaches fill up quickly on weekends, so head there early. You will not find shops or restaurants on the island, so take everything you need for the day. Those interested in more secluded beaches can consider renting a kayak from the coast and paddling to the island in an effort to choose your own beach. With our international travel planner, Playa de Guanica attractions like Gilligan's Island can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • It's closed because it's sinking from the earthquakes etc. Apparently Copamarina lets its guests rent kayaks to go there, but I have to question the safety. It's a tough paddle because of currents...

  • Sadly the island is closed. Only the restaurant is open. Was lucky to have had the opportunity to visit this island in 2019. Hopefully they will open again.
