Create an itinerary including Souq Waqif
Founded at the turn of the 20th century in a dried riverbed where Bedouin Arabs once traded wares, Souq Waqif remains a major marketplace providing access to a range of local goods. Frequented by locals and visitors, the market offers traditional clothing, handcrafted items, spices, and souvenirs, hosting many restaurants, cafes, and shisha lounges that serve Qatari, Yemeni, Syrian, and various other Middle Eastern cuisines. Check out the parts of the souq where domestic pets, like dogs, cats, turtles, and birds are sold, in addition to an area devoted to falcons and falconers. Our Doha trip builder tool makes visiting Souq Waqif and other Doha attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Amazing hotel! The staff was very nice and welcoming. I want to thank Darkaoui for the service, he's been helping us for the journey in Qatar and I want to thank him for his help. I wish him all the best in the future.
  • If you are a tourist coming to Doha, the Al Jasra Hotel (one of the three hotels run by the Tivoli group) is the ONLY place you should stay. The rooms are large and lovely, the hotel is literally right beside the souk (even though it is largely a recreation of the original, it is still my favourite souk in the Middle East), it is extremely quiet (no traffic nearby), and the staff are wonderful. Great experience - highly recommended.
