Create an itinerary including Baños Arabes
Wander through the remains, passageways, and the underground chambers of Baños Arabes, the best conserved thermal baths from the Moorish times on the Iberian Peninsula. Tucked in at the old Arab quarter of the town, these 13th-century baths were located at the main entrance to the medina next to a mosque, so that the devotees could stop for ritual ablution before praying. The interior remains lit thanks to numerous star-shaped skylights. Take a few minutes to watch a short video and learn more about the layout and function of the baths. Note that this attraction is situated at the bottom of the gorge, so be prepared to take a steep hike back up to the main square. • We could feel the ancient history in our bones; great experience. English video several times each hour.

  • A short visit, as it’s a small site but worth a half hour stop whilst in Ronda - make sure you watch the video as it adds perspective ;)

  • Be prepared for some walking to get here. Not so much in distance but up some steep hills. However, once there you'll find one of the best intact examples of these types of baths. Unfortunately some of the signs have sun damage and you cannot see or read them but this is worth a visit if you are into this sort of thing.
  • Ancient baths in beautiful condition, definitely worth a visit. The film, alternating in English and Spanish, is quite helpful. Be sure to view the tower and aqueduct in the area behind the bathhouse.
