Create an itinerary including Plaza Mayor
Segovia's main square, Plaza Mayor, serves up a collection of fine buildings, cafes, and arcades. The cathedral and town hall border the plaza and the city's oldest tavern, La Taberna Rubi, established in 1861, sits just off the square's northwest corner. The plaza provides an ideal setting for munching on tapas and watching the people go by. For Plaza Mayor and beyond, use our Segovia itinerary maker tool to get the most from your Segovia vacation.

  • Worth the walk from the aqueduct to get here, there is a hill so be prepared. Lots of places to sit and people watch, really worth it.

  • The better restaurants are in the alleys between this Plaza and the aqueduct. Those in the plaza are overly touristy = overpriced and lower quality.

  • Not so much to see, some restaurants which may or may not be overpriced. Much like other "plaza mayors" in nearby cities. Place was completely empty during the afternoon when we were there.
  • Very convivial, with many people socializing, good restaurants an great views of the cathedral during day and night.
