Create an itinerary including La Lonja de la Seda
A Gothic building that once housed the famous Valencian silk traders, La Lonja de la Seda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site notable for its architecture. which was used to display the region's growing prosperity rather than to honor religion, as with most other Gothic buildings. The structure is in almost perfect condition, with richly detailed ceilings, perfectly polished floors, and twisted columns. Before the attraction was constructed, between 1482 and 1548, an earlier trading post was used. Local trade grew so much that the present building was built to provide space for all the merchants. • You learn a bit about Valencia and this building worth a visit whilst you are there. Lovely garden and geometric flooring up stairs, the main hall and the columns pretty clever.

  • Beautiful trading hall featuring twisted columns and amazing ceiling art. Free entrance. Unbelievable detail both inside and outside the main structures. The ceiling art work also has lots of depth and tells stories about good and bad governance, as well as the histories of the peoples trading in this region. Strongly recommend listening to these stories.
  • This is a great piece of history in the centre of Valencia. And there is free admission! My advice is to go first to Saint Nicholas church because you get the audio guide for "La Lonja" for free with the ticket for the church. There are two videos you can watch inside to get to know the building better, in case you don't want to get the audio guide. Anyways, if you come to Valencia you should definitely spend some time in this UNESCO world heritage site!
