Admire the distinctive stained-glass windows designed by artist Marc Chagall at Fraumünster Church, a major landmark in the city's Old Town. Erected on the remains of a former Benedictine abbey for aristocratic city women, this 13th-century Gothic church features an eye-catching blue spire rising proudly over the city's skyline. In addition to Chagall's windows in the choir stalls and the southern transept, which depict various biblical stories, the church also boasts a 9 m (30 ft) tall stained glass by Swiss painter Augusto Giacometti. • It’s a magnificent edifice with origins extending back to 853. Predominantly Romanesque in style, it has lovely grounds including a peaceful cloister. Here is an engaging fresco of saints by Paul...

  • A magnificent church, well managed including entry, crypt and shop. The brochure is excellent and an essential guide. The stained glass by Chagall and Giacometti is wonderful. I would suggest organ music at regular intervals to complete the experience.
  • The church is located in the heart of the city, and it is a must-see destination for those interested in architecture and history. The church is known for its beautiful stained glass windows, including the famous Chagall windows, which are considered to be one of the most important artworks of the 20th century. The church also has a beautiful Romanesque architecture and an impressive organ. The church is open to the public, and there is a small entrance fee to visit the church, but it's definitely worth it.
