With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.Explore Bordeaux's surroundings by going to La Grande Dune du Pilat (in Pyla-sur-Mer), La Rochelle (Musee Maritime de La Rochelle, Aquarium La Rochelle, &more) and Cathedrale Sainte-Marie de Bayonne (in Bayonne). Tucked high in the Pyrenees and home to fewer than 65,000 residents, Andorra La Vella seems at first an unlikely tourist hotspot.Step out of Andorra la Vella to go to Ordino and see Estanys de Tristaina, which is approximately 38 minutes away. Spend the 27th (Tue) exploring nature at Comapedrosa Valley National Park. There's much more to do: admire the striking features of Casa de la Vall, take some stellar pictures from Mirador del Roc del Quer, trek along Rec del Sola, and pause for some serene contemplation at Church of Sant Joan de Caselles.

Andorra's wild popularity among tourists can be attributed to its gently sloped ski resorts, extensive hiking trails, and duty-free shopping. The skyline features the ubiquitous outline of the rugged Pyrenees mountain range, with average elevations of 1,996 m (6,549 ft). Tranquillity and relaxation ensue at altitudes of 1,000 m (3,281 ft) at the well-known Caldea Spa Complex, distinguished by its elegant glass spires. If you prefer a little retail therapy, try the duty-free shopping in the capital city Andorra la Vella's bustling avenues. Sightseeing includes Romaneque churches, shrines, and historic houses, including a replica of the famous statue of Our Lady of Meritxell, which was destroyed in a 1972 fire. Andorra's Catalan culture, including folk dances and music, is very much alive today in the town of Sant Julià de Lòria.
