Honolulu — 6 nights

In many ways much more Asian than American, Honolulu is Hawaii's largest city and its center of government, transportation, commerce, and tourism.
Visit Lanikai Beach and Kuhio Beach for some beach relaxation. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Kailua Beach Park and Kapiolani Regional Park. Venture out of the city with trips to Byodo-In Temple (in Kaneohe), Ko Olina Lagoons (in Kapolei) and Waimanalo Beach (in Waimanalo). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Ala Moana Beach Park, explore the different monuments and memorials at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, admire the landmark architecture of Shangri La, and appreciate the extensive heritage of Makapuu Lighthouse Trail.
