A seaside playground in the Caribbean, Rincon was a small agricultural and fishing town until it hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championship.

For sixty years until 2003, most of the Isla de Vieques was closed off to the public, with the US Navy using the island's beaches and surrounding waters for drills and testing of new military machinery, such as bombs.
You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Playa Caracas and La Plata Beach. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Playa La Chiva and Siddhia Hutchinson Fine Art Gallery. With much of Culebra a nature refuge, the tropical island has been protected from overdevelopment, chain hotels, and the cruise set.
On the 30th (Mon), soothe aching muscles at Culebra Yoga and then kick back and relax at Melones Beach. On the 31st (Tue), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Museo Historico de Culebra and then step off the mainland to explore Culebra National Wildlife.

Kick off your visit on the 1st (Wed): make a trip to La Muralla and then appreciate the extensive heritage of Paseo de la Princesa.
