A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Eiffel Tower and Musee d'Orsay. Head to Champs-Elysees and Le Maraisfor some retail therapy. Change things up with these side-trips from Paris: Rouen (Rue du Gros-Horloge, Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, &more) and Versailles (L'Orangerie, The Trianons & The Hamlet, &more). In July in Paris, expect temperatures between 30°C during the day and 18°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 6th (Sun) so you can take a train to Amsterdam.

Known as one of the greatest small cities in the world, Amsterdam charms visitors with its cool and cozy atmosphere.
For shopping fun, head to The Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery or Edam Cheese market. Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Amsterdam's surroundings by going to The Hague (Prison Gate Museum, Passage, &more), Delft (Old Church, City Hall, &more) and Fort Edam (in Edam). Next up on the itinerary: examine the collection at Anne Frank House, pick up some local products at Nieuwmarkt, take a stroll through Leidseplein, and stop by The American Book Center.

Traveling by train from Paris to Amsterdam takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can fly; or drive. Expect a bit cooler weather when traveling from Paris in August: highs in Amsterdam hover around 26°C, while lows dip to 15°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 12th (Sat) so you can fly back home.
