Traveling from Onna-son in October, you will find days in Yakushima-cho are slightly colder (30°C), and nights are about the same (23°C). Cap off your sightseeing on the 6th (Fri) early enough to catch the flight to Tateyama-machi.

On the 7th (Sat), take in the pleasant sights at Yuki no Otani (Snow Wall), see human ingenuity at work at Kurobe Dam, then take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Mt. Tateyama, and finally contemplate the waterfront views at Mikurigaike Pond. Traveling by flight from Yakushima-cho to Tateyama-machi takes 5.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and train; or do a combination of ferry and car. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Yakushima-cho in October: high temperatures in Tateyama-machi hover around 21°C and lows are around 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 8th (Sun) early enough to fly to Teshikaga-cho.

Traveling from Tateyama-machi in October, expect Teshikaga-cho to be slightly colder, temps between 16°C and 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Mon) early enough to drive to Shari-cho.

Getting from Teshikaga-cho to Shari-cho by car takes about 1.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. In October, daily temperatures in Shari-cho can reach 16°C, while at night they dip to 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 11th (Wed) to allow time to fly to Miyakojima.

Step off the beaten path and head to East Henna Cape and Ikema Ohashi Bridge. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at Aragusuku Beach, head outdoors with Toguchi no Hama, take in the views from Kurima Bridge, and discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour.
