Remote, uneventful, but definitely not a waste of time, Arles is absolutely steeped in Provençal culture.
On the 20th (Mon), take in the spiritual surroundings of St-Trophime Cloister (Cloitre St-Trophime) and then steep yourself in history at Le Sentier des Moulins d'Alphonse Daudet. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: take in the spiritual surroundings of Eglise St-Trophime, pause for some serene contemplation at Notre Dame de la Major, and then contemplate the long history of Amphitheatre (les Arenes).
