Uzes — 20 nights

Uzès is a small town and a commune in the Gard department in southern France. It lies about 25km north-northeast of Nîmes.HistoryOriginally Ucetia or Eutica in Latin, Uzès was a small Gallo-Roman oppidum, or administrative settlement. Venture out of the city with trips to Arles (Langlois Bridge, Theatre Antique, &more), Saint-Remy-de-Provence (Jardin d'Alcinoos, Site Archeologique de Glanum, &more) and Les Baux de Provence (Carrieres des Lumieres & Chateau des Baux de Provence). And it doesn't end there: wander the streets of Cours Mirabeau, tour the pleasant surroundings at Le Sentier des Ocres, see where the action happens at Arenes de Nimes, and examine the collection at Musee Granet.
