A city jurisdiction formed after the merger of several towns in 2005, Miyakojima spans six linked-up islands.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Yabiji and East Henna Cape. There's still lots to do: take in the views from Irabu Ohashi, head outdoors with Aragusuku Beach, don't miss a visit to Ikema Ohashi Bridge, and head off the coast to Irabu-jima Island.

Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Tokyo in October: high temperatures in Miyakojima hover around 83°F and lows are around 75°F. Plan for little chillier temperatures traveling from Iriomote-jima in October, with highs in Yakushima-cho at 78°F and lows at 68°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 29th (Sun) so you can travel to Hiroshima.
