Dole is a commune in the Jura department in the Franche-Comté region in eastern France, of which it is a subprefecture.HistoryDole was the capital of Franche-Comté until Louis XIV conquered the region; he shifted the parlement from Dole to Besançon. On the 9th (Fri), get outside with Cascade de Tufs, get to know the fascinating history of Reculee de Baume-les-Messieurs, and then see the interesting displays at La Maison de La Vache qui rit. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 10th (Sat): make a trip to Collegiale Notre-Dame de Dole, don't miss a visit to Vieux Dole, then take in the dramatic scenery at La Cascade des Tufs, and finally contemplate the long history of Maison de Louis Pasteur.
