Paris — 35 nights

City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Visit Philippe-Chatrier Court and Chateau de Maintenon for their historical value. Step out of the city life by going to Le Potager des Princes and Plage du Butin. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: British Cemetery - Montreuil-aux-Lions (in Montreuil-aux-Lions), Blois (Escalier Denis Papin & Chateau Royal de Blois) and Chateau de Cheverny (in Cheverny). Dedicate the 20th (Wed) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. On the 22nd (Fri), spend a day of historical exploration at Cathédrale Saint-Étienne d'Auxerre. And it doesn't end there: do a tasting at Veuve Clicquot-Ponsardin, explore the historical opulence of Chateau of Vincennes, examine the collection at Musee du Parfum - Fragonard, and wander the streets of 1st Arrondissement.

If you are flying in from Australia, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. In May in Paris, expect temperatures between 20°C during the day and 11°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 10th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
