City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Step off the beaten path and head to Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte and Latin Quarter. Your inner history buff will appreciate Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysees. Get out of town with these interesting Paris side-trips: Lochnagar Crater (in Ovillers-la-Boisselle), Chateau de Fontainebleau (in Fontainebleau) and Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Laon (in Laon). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Le Marais, shop like a local with Saint Germain des Pres Quarter, explore the world behind art at Musee d'Orsay, and explore the galleries of Louvre Museum.

To find other places to visit, where to stay, and other tourist information, use the Paris trip itinerary planning website.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. Expect a daytime high around 62°F in October, and nighttime lows around 48°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 19th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
