Rome — 4 nights

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Museo Nazionale Romano - Palazzo Massimo alle Terme and Villa Farnesina will appeal to museum buffs. Piazza Venezia and Le Domus Romane di Palazzo Valentini are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Abbey of St. Paul Outside the Walls, pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, steep yourself in history at Basilica Papale San Paolo fuori le Mura, and see the interesting displays at Stanze di Raffaello.
