Kutchan-cho's reputation rests on two things: skiing and potatoes.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Oyunuma and Mt. Yotei. Get in touch with nature at Niseko Hanazono Resort and Rusutsu Resort Ski. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Kutchan-cho: Noboribetsu (Noboribetsu Dairy Farm & Oyunumagawa Natural Footbath), Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery (in Yoichi-cho) and Cape Kamui (in Shakotan-cho). There's lots more to do: get outside with Niseko Village Ski Resort, explore the activities along Lake Toya, fly down the slopes at Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU, and stroll around Fukidashi Park.

The time zone changes from Gulf Standard Time to Japan Standard Time, which is usually a 5 hour difference. Once a small fishing town, Yokohama was one of the first ports to welcome foreign trade in the 19th century, after which it grew into Japan's second largest city and a bustling metropolis.
Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 and Pola Museum of Art. Step out of the city life by going to Lake Tanuki and Nature & Wildlife Tours. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Yokohama: Hase-dera Temple (in Kamakura), Ito (Jogasaki Suspension Bridge, Jogasaki Coast, &more) and Hakone-machi (Hakone Museum of Art & Hakone Shrine / Kuzuryu Shrine Singu). There's still lots to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Arakura Fuji Sengen Jinja, admire the sheer force of Shiraito Falls, make a trip to Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba, and explore the world behind art at Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum.

Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Kisaikan Farmers Market and Toretore Market Nanki Shirahama. Venture out of the city with trips to Shirahama-cho (Sandambeki Rock Cliff & Shirarahama Beach) and Tanizeno Tsuribashi (in Totsukawa-mura). Tourism in Nichinan, a town on Japan's southernmost island of Kyushu, flourishes thanks to the scenic Nichinan-Kaigan coastline, a stretch of secluded coves, islands, and tranquil beaches.
Start off your visit on the 30th (Mon): stop by Nichinan Brewery Center, then appreciate the extensive heritage of Obijyo Castle Ruins, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Udo Shrine, and finally get outside with Nichinan Coast.

A coastal place of relaxation, Ibusuki stands as a hot spring resort on the southern tip of the peninsula.
Kick off your visit on the 31st (Tue): indulge in Japan's hot spring tradition at some of the top local onsens, take a memorable drive along JR Southernmost Nishioyama Station, then take some stellar pictures from Cape Nagasakibana, then take in the awesome beauty at Mt. Kaimondake, and finally stop by Ikeda Lake Paradise. On the 1st (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: see the interesting displays at Satsuma Eikokukan, then brush up on your military savvy at Chiran Peace Museum, and then steep yourself in history at Chiran Samurai Residence Garden.
