One of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, Tucson is a city on a cultural crossroads, with European, Native American, Mexican, and Asian residents blending and sometimes conflicting with one another.
Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Balloon Rides and Gates Pass. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Tucson: Tumacacori National Historical Park (in Tumacacori) and Tubac (Tubac Presidio State Historic Park and Museum & La Paloma de Tubac).
