Create an itinerary including The Model Village
The Model Village is a one-ninth-scale replica of the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, officially opened in 1937. Its remarkable detail took local craftsmen five years to create. The model represents how the town looked in the 30's and provides an interesting glimpse into the past. Examine the details of the village and discover its quirks and delights. Stand close to the town’s churches to hear the choir singing. Be sure to look out for the model of the Model Village itself. For a small surcharge you can also visit the Miniature World exhibition of highly detailed miniature scenes and room sets, including several moving miniature characters. The creation of this exhibition involved over 100 of England’s leading miniaturist craftsmen and women. Plan your visit to The Model Village and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Bourton-on-the-Water trip planner.

  • Absolutely worth visiting. The model village is built with such great details. It took us about 20 minutes to walk around a couple of times to make sure we saw everything. The entry price is reasonable. Took a lot of pictures too but the pictures don’t show how cute the whole thing is. So I’d really recommend visiting this model village.
  • What an imagination and an accuracy of the details. Never miss it. Very reasonable price and for adults its just £4.50 and kids under 3 go for free. The whole village is presented accurately in a small back garden. See for yourself. U won’t regret it. Amazing 🤩
