A giant, slab-like cliff that is perhaps one of the most iconic images of Great Britain’s natural beauty, Beachy Head towers imposingly over the English Channel. The cliff has a sheer drop to the sea--at 162 m (531 ft), it is the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain. The view from the top can be quite dizzying and intimidating, yet also spectacular. Down below, a restaurant and summertime ice-cream trucks sit at Birling Gap. You can reach the clifftop by walking or cycling from the town of Eastbourne or taking an open-top bus tour. Parking is available if you drive, and the Peace Path provides wheelchair access. Trails also go down to the water. Be careful as you near the edge of the cliff as there's no restraining mechanism in place. Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Eastbourne trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.

Was supposed to be a sunny day but was very misty when we arrived & continued to be cloudy the time we were there. Very blustery. Very good views. Cafe a bit pricey.

Gorgeous place. The views are stunning and whilst not the easiest trails, as long as you can walk, they're manageable. Definitely worth a visit!

Great views from the coast line. Can get very windy so take care if near the edge. A great place to view the Eastbourne Air Show in the Summers. The ‘Beachy Head’ pub is ideal place to shelter when windy, or when needed to rest when hiking. The food is nice but it can get busy on weekends. Parking is a bit expensive however.
