Ruislip Lido is a 60-acre lake with sandy beaches set on the edge of Ruislip Woods and has a narrow gauge railway around it. This venue gets extremely busy during school and bank holidays, weekends and particularly when the weather is fine.
It is easily accessible by public transport and due to the very limited parking visitors are advised to travel to it wherever possible, using the excellent bus and train link services which run frequently throughout the day and which stop close by the Lido.
Parking at Ruislip Lido is very limited and charges apply all year round. There are strictly enforced Clearway zones and parking restrictions on roads around the Lido. Illegally parked vehicles will receive parking fines and may be towed away.
Coaches cannot be accommodated within the car park and there are no parking or waiting areas adjacent to the Lido. Any coach operators taking visitors to the Lido will only be able to drop off and will need to return later to collect visitors. Coming from London, it’s a bit too far from central for what you will find there. We visited on a Friday around 3 pm and stayed for two hours. The water and shore it’s muddy and it’s not very pleasant to have a bath. (There’s a kid water playground where you can sneak to refresh if you don’t want to swim in the lido). Kids are everywhere enjoying themselves so you get the Chaos that comes with that. (This was on the 12th of August, school holidays) There’s a cafe to get refreshments and a nice forest for a walk in the nature next door.

Very good place to visit with kids. Kids can splash and even swim here.. Safe for kids. There is play ground, enough open space to have a walk, snakes shop, ice cream shop, mini train tour over there. parking available.
