  • Renovated windmill set in a compact but pretty grassy area. When we went to visit, the visitor centre wasn’t yet completely open. But we had an excellent talk by one of the restorers, and there are a ton of visual props and interactive computers to view old photos and stages of the windmill’s restoration. Would definitely recommend!
  • It is very rare that you haven't noticed the picturesque attractive magnificently white Windmill when driving along the St Mary's Lane. This Windmill is a Grade II Listed Building built in 1803 and in terms of quality, completeness and significance it is widely considered to be amongst the very best remaining English smock mills. There is a beautiful open grass area surrounded by mature trees - very popular with locals and visitors for leisurely stroll or having picnics! Visitor Centre has a beautiful garden maintained by volunteers! The Education Room is available for hire! It has been a while - 3+ years I think, that the windmill is closed for much-needed restoration work! Wish that this opens soon for public visits! St Mary's Lane and Corbets Tey Road are full of tourist attractions including Upminster Park, Parklands Open Space, Clockhouse Gardens and many more!
