Pay tribute to World War II heroes and learn about the conflict at National Museum of the Pacific War. Located in Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz’s hometown, this museum complex includes three major sites--the Admiral Nimitz Museum, the George H.W. Bush Gallery, and the Pacific Combat Zone. Guided tours, artifacts, documents, weapons, and multimedia presentations illustrate the war in the Pacific. Visit the Japanese Garden of Peace, donated by the government of Japan on the town's 130th anniversary. A single ticket gives you access to all of the sites and is valid for two days. This museum captures well the Pacific War. The displays are of a wide variety, the most stunning is the Japanese submarine captured at Pearl Harbor. This display is almost an immersive experience...

This museum absolutely took me by surprise. I have visited military museums around the world (Smithsonian as well) and I would recommend this one over any of them. Very informative and detail oriented. Great displays and descriptions of artifacts on display. I am so thankful I came and hope to come back another time. Well worth the admission fee and time it takes to go through.

We were unable to do the paid portion since all the times were fully booked ahead of time (Spring Break). I did appreciate that they extended their hours so more folks could visit. Although we didn’t get to do the paid exhibits, there was plenty to see and read inside and out to make it worth our time. The lady when we walked in greeted us and was super helpful explaining that although they were booked there were areas on the map provided were free. We will definitely visit again.
