Create an itinerary including Turtle Bay Beach
Protected from big waves, Turtle Bay Beach is a lesser-known spot for snorkeling. The calmness of the water allows for great visibility of the coral reefs and tropical fish below the water's surface. The public beach also offers a good chance of spotting the endangered Hawaiian green sea turtle, a highlight for many visiting the island. The resort on the beach has been used as a setting for many TV shows and films, like "Hawaii 5-0," "Full House," and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." If you work up an appetite swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing, there is a restaurant on the beach. • One of our favorite beaches. Still looking to sight some turtles, hence why we made the 1.5 hr drive up here. It’s so lovely, relaxing, it feels more private even though it’s open to the public. Absolutely loving every moment of it. It’s not crowded from what I can tell
  • An absolutely beautiful place on the North Shore to relax and see some green sea turtles. On the 3 times that we visited we found it was best to visit at midday to see the green sea turtles. They come ashore to sun bake. They are amazing creatures and endangered so please look and don’t touch. You can get fined for doing so. There are also volunteers there to protect the turtles.
