Yale University Art Gallery displays art from nearly all cultures, but it's most famous for its collection of early Italian paintings, African sculptures, and modern art. Located in several buildings on the university campus, the gallery also houses world-renowned collections of American decorative and fine arts from as far back as the 17th century. Of particular note is the small collection of rare American silver. Opened in 1832, the gallery recently underwent renovations to connect three separate galleries while maintaining their distinct architectural styles; it reopened in 2012. I love going to museums and when they are free, that’s the best. Well I gotta say that this might be the best one I’ve ever been to. I was not honestly expecting much but I made the day trip up from NYC and I just loved it. The art on display is amazing. You can really get lost in everything that they have to offer. Parking wasn’t too hard to get on a Sunday. And the staff was very friendly. They do have lockers for your stuff so that was helpful. The only thing that they didn’t have was any kind of gift shop because I collect magnets from my trip and they didn’t have anything to add to my collection.

Amazing place with many different artists and exhibitions! Unbelievable that is completely free!! It has four levels in total, you will definitely need a whole day to enjoy the gallery at its fullest. I highly recommend this place.
