Get above many of Manhattan's high-rises at Top of the Rock, with an unobstructed, 360-degree view from the 70th floor. You can also gaze far and wide from protected outdoor terraces on the 67th and 69th floors. After a renovation that kept it closed for several years, the deck reopened in 2005. Designed to resemble an ocean liner's deck, the observation deck offers a bird's-eye view of many of the city's iconic buildings. A timed entry system helps keep the lines shorter and the experience less crowded than at other viewing platforms in the city. Save even more time by purchasing your tickets online. Great experience and would recommend to anyone visiting New York to get a feel for the city. This was our favourite attraction.

I loved this entire experience. Staff were very helpful from start to end and the views! Oh the views were stunning and that was an understatement. Each of the 3 observation decks gives a new perspective and more photo opportunities. I am not a lover of heights but this building was perfect for seeing this amazing city without worrying about how high up I was. Highly recommend especially if like myself you love the Empire State building. The views are simply stunning.

Visit the observatory after dinner. I went a little late around 9:30, but I could go to the observatory smoothly without lining up. It's mid-August, but the observatory is cool, so if you're a woman, you'll be able to enjoy the night view more comfortably if you have something to wear. If you want to see the observatory at the best time of sunset, you need to get a timed ticket early, otherwise you won't be able to enter at your desired time. This time, I went to Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, and Edge Observatory, and all of them have wonderful views. The Top of the Rock, Empire State Building is a classic observatory, and the Edge is a modern observatory. ”
