Founded in 1720, Mission San Jose is the largest of the missions in Texas and offers visitors a glimpse into the area's Spanish community life more than 250 years ago. This Catholic mission was rebuilt in limestone in 1768 and is dubbed Queen of the Missions because of its relative size compared to fellow sites within the UNESCO-designated San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. This particular mission underwent restoration in the 1930s and is most well-known for its detailed rose window. • I am fascinated by the historical significance and the architecture of the mission. I did the mission as part of a half day tour and the visit was awesome. I liked being able to visit the exhibits...

  • The Church is beautiful and has a lot of history associated with it. The place is very big with multiple old builds on the Church area. It is nice to see the history of the area. It is not very crowded so it's very peaceful. The actual Church is beautiful with multiple designs which is beautiful to view. Overall I loved it. Parking is free!
  • It was closed!!! Had to go around a post to at least see compound. Sad! Beautiful architecture!
