A natural limestone bridge leads into caves at Natural Bridge Caverns. The cavity houses the largest commercial caves in the United States--viewed as a living cave system because of the active growth of formations. Prior to opening to the public, the cave revealed evidence of ancient human remains dating back to 5,000 BCE. The caverns are part of a drive-through safari park, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. • Bought tickets and online said it was 70 degrees. Went in there and found out it is 99% humidity. Says family friendly but they should really advise on taking family members under 1. My 9 month old was SO hot in there, we had the leave the tour early because he was so fussy and hot. My baby ended up with a heat rash on his cheeks. Wish they would’ve told us it was going to feel like 100 degrees. My husband and I were sweating, so it was worse for a baby. Despite not going through the cave tour, the Christmas at the Caverns was pretty nice. Santa was the best, really nice and talkative and great at story telling. The trail of lights were really beautiful too. For $15 you can get a bag of soil and sluice crystals and stones. My 7 year old got a good amount of crystals and stones for that price. Pizza was also really good.
  • Great hike through a living cave! Lots of formations to help kids understand more of their geology. Then ropes course with zip lines above ground for fun. Decent food and cold water at the snack stands. I recommend going early in the hot months and making reservations ahead of time online. Great family memories were made!
