San Antonio Zoo features 750 species of mammals, reptiles, birds(among the United States' largest collections), and amphibians. See the plains of Africa and lush jungles of Amazonia in this natural setting for over 9,000 animals. Observe different animal species as they share a common watering place, and watch a hippopotamus and a Nile crocodile up close through underwater viewing windows. You can hop on a train for a tour around the zoo, visit a butterfly garden, play with parrots, and ride a carousel. There's a lot of walking to do, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water with you. Absolutely better than the zoo that exists where I come from. Though the heat become too much after walking for 2 something hours in it.

Good zoo. I really enjoyed how it's set up. We went during a cold day so there was some things we didn't get to see but it was nice having the dinosaur's out around the zoo. Good variety of animals. Also my kids got to ride on a camel which was pretty fun for them. A bit pricey but they enjoyed it so I'm a happy parent.

I really enjoyed visiting this zoo. There are so many uniquely different animals. The animal exhibits were well taken care. The animals were very active. There were many different activities for children. Patrons could feed various animals for a fee. The parking lot is smaller and finding a parking spot can be difficult. Overall, I would highly suggest taking your family.
