A network of walkways along the San Antonio River, The San Antonio River Walk winds its way under a series of bridges. Lined with bars, restaurants, and shops, the walkways offer a different perspective of the city, away from the traffic buzzing one level above. You can explore most of the city's main tourist attractions by following this network of pedestrian-friendly sidewalks--without having to worry about parking or getting stuck in commuter traffic. In many sections, no safety fences separate the sidewalks from the water, so be cautious, especially with small children. Our San Antonio trip itinerary planning app makes visiting The San Antonio River Walk and other San Antonio attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

Lots of life in a safe environment where everyone seemed to be there for food and fun. The boat ride and guide were great.

I live downtown and I love the fall evenings when the temperature and the humidity drops ... The San Antonio River Walk is one of the best places to be on the earth... It's even better during the week when everything is chill... I can take my dog Thia out and we don't have to fight the weekend crowds. I love seeing the city at night and I enjoy watching people taking a leisurely stroll along the river with their loved ones... it's fun to be able to grab a bite to eat , listen to some live music... most places along the river are service animal and family friendly!

Iconic San Antonio location! The River Walk and surrounding areas are a must-see! Right next to the Alamo and other important historical landmarks. Use the river walk to get around in a shaded and fun way as you tour historic downtown. Plenty of food options to fit all tastes. Great souvenir shops. The River boats give a cool history while you ride and take in the sites.
