Cabrillo National Monument commemorates the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo’s expedition to San Diego Bay in 1524. It was the first time that a European expedition set foot on what became the west coast of the United States. You can learn about the age of exploration and Cabrillo at the park’s visitor center. From here, it is a short walk to the Old Point Loma Lighthouse, restored to its 1880's appearance and now operating as a museum. The park also encompasses several former military installations, which you can see while exploring the area. Take time to appreciate the monument’s superb views of the harbor, city skyline, and Pacific Ocean. If it is a clear day, you might even see the Coronado Islands. Beautiful and with every bit of the trip to visit this site while touring around! Gorgeous area if you want to visit a historical site and million dollar views of all of San Diego, Coronado, the bay and the ocean! Amazing, refreshing and has a nice gift shop in addition with a museum indoors! Very impressive and a lot of fun! Jump on a trail and look around! Watch out for snakes 🐍 while you're walking around! Fantastic!

Amazing place close to San Diego. Amazing views of the city, ocean, coast, and more. Really nice staff. The bay side trail was awesome and only 2 miles. Perfect for a half day visit. It was 20 dollars to get in. Would love to go back to try other trails and spend more time in the museum.
