Listed as a World Heritage Site, Mỹ Sơn served as a burial place for the Cham royalty and a sacred site for Hindu ceremonies. Built between the 4th and 14th centuries in a blend of architectural styles, the cluster of partially ruined tower-temples remains one of the oldest archaeological sites in the region. Inspect many types of religious stone buildings on the site, such as a brick sanctuary, gate-tower, and a house sheltering valuables offered to the deities. Inside you can find many inscriptions in Sanskrit and old Cham, which portray the ancient rulers' need to receive affirmation from the divine. Very nice ruins, the museum gives a nice first introduction before seeing the ruins for real. The electric bus to go there is handy as well.
